What a surprise, you and I
Rain falling from the darkened sky.
A little high on saloon whiskey
Songs running though our veins.
We snuggled close making love
In that tiny tinseled
room above.
The rodeo over that sultry afternoon
Ride Em’ cowboys dancing below
To the glow of high heeled girls
In dresses of silk made for show.
The hands of men
In Stetson hats
Twirling woman hard and fast.
Colored strobes whirling around
Balloons dangling down from globes
Keys to the rooms inside
Pop! Bang! Boom!
Watch them go.
Quite a time we had
At the old Honky Tonk Saloon
That rainy afternoon.
